Description
Summary:Since June 2005, Jacques Beaudry-Losique has served DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy as the Program Manager for the Industrial Technologies Program. As Program Manager, Beaudry-Losique leads DOE's efforts to achieve significant energy savings in industry. Beaudry-Losique wants the Industrial Technologies Program (ITP) to serve as an instrument for finding, documenting and propagating information on energy savings opportunities in the industrial sector. He points out that in many industries, better measurement tools are needed to monitor energy usage and to measure results of improvements. In other cases, improved process tools can reduce waste and increase output. Within ITP, there are major ongoing industrial energy efficiency research programs. The agency places a high priority on "crosscutting technologies" -- those approaches that have the potential to improve energy usage across several industries, thereby contributing to larger gains.
