Summary: | When BAE Systems Regional Aircraft closed its RJX programme nearly two years ago the rumblings in the market were tinged with shock before commentators were quietened by the market saturation arguments. One man who was not put off his stride by the news was Paul Stirling, senior vice-president, asset management. Stirling firmly believes that customer response shows that the BAE Systems 146s and RJs are still very much contenders, alongside the new technology coming out of the North and South American camps. In the meantime, Stirling is nurturing a portfolio of 330 BAE Systems aircraft with no new homegrown types and with an unknown market demand to complicate the picture. To date, BAE Systems Regional Aircraft asset management has handled well over 1,100 trading transactions and many deal restructurings and aircraft customization programmes. |
