Summary: | Microsoft Corp. and Digital Equipment Corp. are teaming up with channel partners to create turnkey systems. The move could give Microsoft and Digital a major boost in selling Windows NT-based solutions into the enterprise server market, where Unix currently dominates. Microsoft's new service brokering activities will go beyond Solution Provider alliances and include forming partnerships with telcos for the first time. In the past few months, Digital and Microsoft have started to recruit 106 of Microsoft's Solution Providers to offer Windows NT on Digital's Intel- and Alpha-based machines. |
