Summary: | The dynamic paradigm shift toward supply chain management is changing the way the transportation and logistics industry is viewed. Business and business relationships are increasingly measuring the success of logistics operations by the synergy between productivity, turn-around times, and quality. The automobile industry is at the forefront of adopting the process shift that aims at removing inefficiencies, excess costs, and excess inventories from the supply pipeline. Most dedicated vehicle transportation shippers utilize RO/RO vessels or Pure Car Carriers. Shippers engaged in used car transportation face a different set of challenges than those shipping new cars. One of the impediments is strict export controls. |
