Description
Summary:A newly released study by market research firm Farkas Berkowitz & Co. shows no growth in 1995 in the environmental consulting industry after a surprising 5% gain in 1994. Individual sectors look equally bleak as the industry continues to consolidate. Other studies point to a few potential bright spots for consultants - namely, the market for outsourcing, ISO 14000 certification and brownfields cleanup. A forthcoming study by BTI Consulting Inc. reveals a virtually untapped market for environmental consultants in companies looking to concentrate on core competencies and outsource the rest. Only a few consulting firms, however, have developed successful marketing approaches to capture environmental functions as they are outsourced.
