Description
Summary:A number of researchers have investigated ways to resolve potential timing problems in parallel discrete-event simulation. This article describes several problems that occurred in a sequential, discrete-event model of a system for order and distributing military clothing. These problems are likely to occur in models implemented with a component-oriented simulation package. Techniques are presented to resolve these problems that can also apply to discrete-event components that are party of a hybrid model containing continuous modules. Because these techniques resolve timing problems that occur commonly, they may benefit developers of simulations models by eliminating the time required for re-invention.
