Description
Summary:While the industry continues to spring a different surprise almost every day, readers can at least find consistency in the Airfinance Journal Engine Investors' Poll. CFM International has retained its top position for a third year, with the CFM56-7B for 737 aircraft named investors' favourite. The company dominated the top 10, taking second, fourth and eight places. CFM's triumph could almost be a fait accompli. The 737-generation of aircraft is the most popular and as the CFM56-7B is the sole engine, its top position is almost guaranteed, for the time being. The engines poll asked participants to rate each engine out of 10 according to four categories: 1. investor appeal, 2. remarketing potential, 3. value for money, and 4. residual average value. The categories were based on financial aspects of the engines, and not on their operational capabilities. All replies were received in the strictest confidence.
