Summary: | US Customs has refused entry to over 300 products from Philippine exporters since last year for failing to meet safety and health standards set by the US FDA. Mr. [Thomas G. Aquino] last Friday met with members of the Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization Inc. and Integrated Food Manufacturers Association of the Philippines for Productivity. Manufacturers RFM Foods Corp. and Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines also sent representatives to the meeting. Mr. Aquino also said the task force would meet with US FDA officials to find out the reasons for the detention of Philippine food exports and how this could be avoided in the future. |
