Summary:The Enterprise Center in Makati City was given an information technology (IT) economic zone (ecozone) status by Malacanang. Separately, the Lopez-led ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. said it is seeking an IT zone status for its Eugenio Lopez, Jr. (ELJ) building in Quezon City. ABS-CBN chief executive Eugenio Lopez III said they are in talks with two clients who want to set up call center operations at the ELJ building. He refused to identify the two but said they may lease up to 5,000 square meters (sqm) of the 9,000- to 10,000-sqm available space at the building. ABS-CBN is slated to generate P3.6 million to P8.6 million from leasing three floors as Mr. Lopez said the rates would be similar to the lease at the Makati central business district of P400 to P500 per sqm.
