Description
Summary:Lasdun talks about his experience moving with his family to a small farmhouse in the Catskills. There was a meadow a few hundred yards above the house, with a big view of mountains, but the house itself was in a sunken spot, hemmed in by woods and the road. As the kids and the trees grew bigger, the house seemed to shrink and darken around them. They talked about adding on, but when it came to it they couldn't bring themselves to spend the money on a place that was never going to have light or a view. They thought of moving back to New York, but realized they were too attached to their rustic life to give it up.
