Summary:The reactor facility design uses innovative approaches based on the previous experience of designing and operating similar nuclear reactors. Thus, a VK-50 reactor operated in Russia is used as a prototype for the VK-300 reactor. The experience of the designing and long-- term operation of the boiling-water small-- size VK-50 reactor in Dimitrovgrad turned out to be extremely useful in the development of the VK-300 reactor.
