Summary:At Nestle's new warehousing and distribution center, with the push of a master control button at each of the 20 loading docks, the controls from Rite-Hite simultaneously engage the vehicle restraint, set the hydraulic leveler and lip, and inflate the pneumatic dock seal. Once the loading is completed, touching the same button deflates the shelter, unlocks the vehicle restraint, and resets the leveler and lip. At Northland Container's new 80,000-square-foot warehouse in Syracuse, New York, the 9 dock bays are equipped with new hydraulic dock levelers, wider dock boards, and rigid dock shelters. While the old warehouse used mechanical levelers, the company switched to hydraulic levelers from Serco for the new facility because they are easier to use. At American Airlines at JFK Airport in New York, the tipping fees for dumping the general trash and pallets generated by passengers and airline food service were rising. The solution was a piggy-back, shredder-compactor system from Blower Application Co. Inc.
