Summary: | For a growing number of companies around the world, using foreign trade zones (FTZ) has become increasingly important. FTZs come in 2 varieties: general purpose zones, meant for public use and run on the principles of a public utility, and special purpose subzones, used by a single enterprise. Mitsubishi disassembled trucks and shipped them to the Brazilian market to save money on tariffs. Brazil levies a 100% tariffs on imported vehicles, but only 25% on imported parts. |
