Description
Summary:The long-term solution to the challenge of effectively eliminating flies in the pesticide-sensitive world of foodservice is Integrated Pest Management (IPM) - a partnership between the pest control operator and a restaurant. IPM eliminates insects by using non-chemical control tactics before pesticides are applied. The first IPM step in fly control is an inspection of the infested area and identification of the species. Sanitation, which is most often the cause of fly infestations, plays a large role in IPM. Another IPM technique is exclusion - keeping flies from entering a restaurant in the first place. Sometimes when using the IPM approach, chemical control is necessary for stubborn infestations - but always a last resort.
