Description
Summary:For students, academics, and practitioners in the field of ecology, the fate of our world and the constant drumbeat of habitat loss, climate change, extinction debts, and social inequity create a sense of profound sorrow. For any story we hear about water pollution, habitat degradation, or climate change, we can also find examples of restored forests, wetlands, prairies, and rivers (and many more ecosystems around the world!). While degradation and climate change certainly outpace restoration, the impediment to successful restoration is often social, political, and financial, more than due to a lack of scientific understanding.
