Summary: | Electromagnetic radiation (EMR) has been noted to occur in conjunction with the deformation and fracturing of coal on scales from local failure to overall collapse. The EMR signals are recorded during coal rock deformation and fracturing. When monitored, these signals can be used to qualitatively evaluate the stress state of coal rock and become part of the tool box used to estimate coal rock dynamic disasters in underground coalmines. |
