Description
Summary:A conventional semiconductor foundry requires a dust-free environment that is i,000 times cleaner than a sterile hospital operating room. A quantum computing chip needs to be isolated not just from dust but from all forms of radiation and vibration that could interfere with the delicate interaction of subatomic particles. Once the technical hurdles of dealing with fragile subatomic states are overcome, the number of qubits will surely rise and systems will implement error correction to deal with decoherence, the problem caused by being unable to completely isolate a system from interference in the real world.
