Summary:In a dispute over an Internet link to a computer code that unscrambles encrytpted DVDs, California's 6th District Court of Appeals has ruled that the first amendment trumps the state's trade secrets protection law. The court ruled that a company's right to protect its economically valuable trade secret is not an interest that is more fundamental than the First Amendment right to freedom of speech.
