Draft genome sequence of the extremely halophilic archaeon Halococcus sediminicola CBA1101 T isolated from a marine sediment sample

Halococcus sediminicola CBA1101 (=CECT 8275 , JCM 18965 ) is an extremely halophilic strain isolated from a marine sediment collected from the bay of Gangjin in the Republic of Korea. We found that the draft genome of H. sediminicola CBA1101 contains 3,764,367bp, with 62.3% G+C content. This is the...

Summary:Halococcus sediminicola CBA1101 (=CECT 8275 , JCM 18965 ) is an extremely halophilic strain isolated from a marine sediment collected from the bay of Gangjin in the Republic of Korea. We found that the draft genome of H. sediminicola CBA1101 contains 3,764,367bp, with 62.3% G+C content. This is the one of the few genomes to be sequenced in the genus Halococcus.
