The present report describes the case of a patient with recurrence of transitional meningioma for which total resection had been performed 8 years prior. Furthermore, the transitional meningioma transformed into atypical meningioma, and metastasized to the ribs. The present report aimed to describe the clinical features and pathological findings of a case of malignant transformation and distant metastasis of benign meningioma. A review of the literature was also performed. Key words: gross total resection, transitional meningioma, malignant transformation, recurrence, rib metastasis |
