Immunohistochemical identification of plasma proteins in cytoplasmic granules of peripolar cells of the sheep

Description
Summary:The cytoplasmic granules of glomerular periopolar cells of the newborn lamb and sheep have been shown to contain immunoreactive albumin and immunoglobulin using immunohistochemistry and ultrastructural immunocytochemistry. It is most likely that the granule contents include material derived from filtered plasma proteins, although the basis for such uptake, localised to glomerular epithelial cells in the peripolar region, remains unexplained.
