Summary: | A simple technique for combining the advantages of autogenous vein patch, endarterectomy and the synthetic bypass graft is presented. The graft anastomosis is easily accomplished without compromise of the lumen, and is above the flexion area. A vein patch is carried down the endarterectomized popliteal artery, crossing the flexion area and ending just above the popliteal bifurcation. The time for the procedure is thereby shortened and the necessity for a saphenous vein of sufficient length or calibre for bypass grafting is eliminated. Images |
