Summary: | Total pancreatectomy for periampullary carcinoma should be reserved for resectable primary carcinoma in the pancreas. The postoperative complications are reduced, and the resultant diabetes is not difficult to manage. There were no postoperative deaths in series of 12 cases of total and partial pancreatectomy. This study proposes a more aggressive approach to malignant lesions in this area. Images |
