Summary: | Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a contagious retrovirus which has been shown to be an inducer of neoplasia and immunosuppression in cats. One of the reported effects of FeLV is bone marrow suppression. In this paper the authors describe a case of FeLV-associated hemolytic anemia and bone marrow suppression which was trated with corticosteroids and purified protein A from Staphylococcus aureus (Pharmacia Fine Chemicals, Piscataway, New Jersey 08854). |
