Summary: | Awareness of the alcohol labeling law and exposure to, beliefs about, and memory for the government-mandated alcohol warning label were measured in a sample of adolescents immediately before the label was required to appear (in the fall of 1989) and 1 year after the label was required. After the label was required, there were increases in awareness, exposure, and recognition memory, but there were not substantial changes in alcohol use or beliefs about the risks written on the warning. |
