Summary: | In this paper, the methodology used to train users at an Air Force Medical Facility in Biloxi, Mississippi is presented. Prior to system installation, the hospital had no computerized support. Therefore, the Air Force personnel were introduced to the concepts of automated data processing technologies as well as to the functions of the system being installed. The system installed performed patient administration functions.
The training team who did the installation and implementation of the Registration/Admission, Disposition (discharge), and Transfer (R/ADT) System at Keesler Air Force Base attained notable success with the training program described in this paper. This same type of training plan was used again by the team to teach additional users when new subsystems (Clinical Records and Business Office) were installed. |
