Communication with the Uncommunicable: Proceedings of the Ethics Committee

The case of a patient in the surgical intensive care unit who is no longer able to make medical decisions for himself is presented and discussed for its ethical implications. The case was presented from a number of perspectives and was complicated by the religious views of some of those involved.
