cDNA sequence for the α subunit of the guanine nucleotide-binding protein that stimulates adenylyl cyclase (GSα) in Syrian hamster heart (Mesocricetus auratus)

A cDNA library prepared from poly-A super(+) RNA of Syrian hamster heart (Mesocricetus auratus)) was screened using cDNA encoding human G sub(s alpha ), and four clones were isolated. The nucleotide sequence of the longest clone encoding G sub(s alpha ) had 97.4% and 96.7% identity when compared to...

Description
Summary:A cDNA library prepared from poly-A super(+) RNA of Syrian hamster heart (Mesocricetus auratus)) was screened using cDNA encoding human G sub(s alpha ), and four clones were isolated. The nucleotide sequence of the longest clone encoding G sub(s alpha ) had 97.4% and 96.7% identity when compared to G sub(s alpha ) from Chinese hamster or rat. The amino acid sequence deduced from this clone was identical to the peptide sequence for the long form of G sub(s alpha ) from rat and human, but differed by one amino acid residue from that of Chinese hamster.
