Nucleotide cDNA sequence coding for the PVXc coat protein
The authors report the sequence of a 1106 bp fragment encompassing the 3'-end of Xc, a Latin-American isolate of PVX. Comparison with an European isolate shows 78% identity in the coding regions. Comparison among amino acid sequences of both coat proteins shows 89% identity. The Latin-American...

Summary: | The authors report the sequence of a 1106 bp fragment encompassing the 3'-end of Xc, a Latin-American isolate of PVX. Comparison with an European isolate shows 78% identity in the coding regions. Comparison among amino acid sequences of both coat proteins shows 89% identity. The Latin-American isolate shows a sequence rearrangement from which a Threonine and an Alanine in the European isolate are replaced by an Asparagine in PVXc (position 28). |
