The cDNA sequence of the α-subunit of the Chinese hamster adenylate cyclase-stimulatory G-protein

A cDNA library from a CCL39 cell line (Chinese hamster lung fibroblasts) was screened with a super(32)P-labeled oligonucleotide. The sequence of the probe was defined as a consensus sequence of the phosphate binding loop of the alpha subunit of GTP-binding proteins of rat, bovine and human). Five cl...

Description
Summary:A cDNA library from a CCL39 cell line (Chinese hamster lung fibroblasts) was screened with a super(32)P-labeled oligonucleotide. The sequence of the probe was defined as a consensus sequence of the phosphate binding loop of the alpha subunit of GTP-binding proteins of rat, bovine and human). Five clones that hybridized also with an alpha sub(s) specific oligonucleotide, were purified and further characterized. They correspond to the alpha sub(1s) form of the adenylate cyclase stimulatory G-protein. The nucleotide sequence corresponding to the coding region of the Chinese hamster is 96% and 93% homologous to the rat and bovine respectively.
