Description
Summary:The Authors present the case of a young lady with a relapse of a pilocytic astrocytoma of the left thalamo-mesencefalic region. The first diagnosis was performed at the age of 7 years in relation to right hemiparesis. The patient underwent to brachitherapy with reduction of neoplasia and remission of neurologic symptoms for 27 years. Actually the patient presents, one month after the childbirth of her son, a progressive hypostenia to right arm and in a second time hypostenia to right leg and deficit of facial nerve. The MRI showed an important cystic lesion in the left thalamic region with compression on the ventricular system and gadolinium captation of a caudal solid area. The patient underwent to stereotactic puncture of the cistic lesion and positioning of Rickam catheter with remission of liquoral system compression. The Author present the case with discussion of literature results.
