Description
Summary:Nyangoma et al describe trends in hospitalizations for respiratory disease among unaccompanied children from Central America during Jun-Jul 2014. The CDC recommended that all children residing in temporary or standard ORR shelters receive influenza vaccine and PCV13 in addition to routinely recommended vaccines. Although some countries in Central America recommend influenza vaccination for young children, school-aged children generally are not targeted for vaccination. Routine annual influenza vaccination is recommended for all persons in the US aged ≥6 months.
