Highlights • Adolescent Sleep–Wake Scale – short version (ASWS-S) was consistent in favor of African American, Caucasian, and multiethnic adolescents. • ASWS-S was inconsistent in favor of Latino adolescents. • ASWS-S can be used to screen for sleep problems in most adolescents.
