Summary:Intraocular pressure (IOP) remains the only modifiable risk factor in the management of glaucoma. Hence, IOP and its appropriate measurement deserve our ongoing interest. Over the years, not only has our understanding of glaucoma changed but also has changed our approach to the measurement of the IOP. This review is an attempt to elucidate the commonly techniques of tonometry, and critically evaluate each of them, in current glaucoma practice.
