Summary:A 56-year-old man with multiple cardiac manifestations of type 1 myotonic dystrophy, including severe, nonischemic cardiomyopathy… A 56-year-old man with multiple cardiac manifestations of type 1 myotonic dystrophy, including severe, nonischemic cardiomyopathy, presented in refractory cardiogenic shock requiring inotropic therapy. Given his wishes to die without having any intravenous medications, he was started on oral probenecid therapy, which allowed for successful elimination of his intravenous therapies.
