Summary:Convalescent plasma collected from COVID-19 survivors contains antibodies against receptor binding domains with potent antiviral activity. The use of this therapy for COVID-19 is still under investigation, as the pathophysiological and immunological mechanisms responsible for the evolution of the disease have not been fully identified. In this retrospective observational study, we included all patients with a confirmed SARS-Cov-2 infection based on positive RT-PCR testing, who received convalescent plasma treatment in addition to standard therapy, between 17.05.2020 and 27.11.2020, following hospitalization in the Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Unit of the Sibiu County Emergency Clinical Hospital, Romania.
