Summary:Neuropsychiatric symptoms are commonly reported in cerebral palsy. These symptoms interact in complex ways with the core motoric features of cerebral palsy, and require specialised care. We argue for increased awareness of these symptoms by clinicians, and the need for greater integration of neuropsychiatric specialists into the core teams involved in multidisciplinary care for individuals with cerebral palsy and their families.
