Remdesivir reduced upper respiratory tract SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA concentration in COVID-19 patients who developed pneumonitis

•COVID-19 patients with pneumonitis benefit from antiviral treatment.•Early remdesivir treatment accelerates the decline in SARS-CoV-2 respiratory concentration.•The significant viral load decline was observed from day 8 onwards after admission.
