Summary: | Drawing inspiration from such complex learning platforms as John Hunter's World Peace Project, I design the curriculum to emphasise how complex and interconnected the relevant concepts are. If you have a chance to visit a museum to view a relevant collection, build it into the curriculum as a key resource at the start of your studies rather than at the end. With different classes I have turned the map into a giant game board to explore, allocated land via a rewards system, allocated different kinds of terrain that provide various resources, challenged students to negotiate an intercolonial railway system, or write an 1870s newspaper. |
