Description
Summary:From the reaction of CuI with an N,S-donor ligand ( L ) under different molar ratios, two discrete polynuclear copper( i ) iodide complexes, [Cu 2 I 2 L 2 ] ( 1 ) and [Cu 7 I 7 L 3 ] ( 2 ) were isolated and characterised. Complex 1 contains a rhomboid-type Cu 2 I 2 cluster, whilst complex 2 is the first example showing a pinwheel-type Cu 7 I 7 cluster. From the reaction of CuI with a ligand ( L ) under different molar ratios, two discrete polynuclear copper( i ) iodide complexes, [Cu 2 I 2 L 2 ] ( 1 ) and [Cu 7 I 7 L 3 ] ( 2 ) were isolated and characterised. In 2 , a pinwheel-type structure is the first example amongst copper halide clusters.
