Description
Summary:Several amphiphilic, chalcogen-based redox modulators have been synthesized which exhibit a widespread, yet in some instances also selective, biological activity which is most likely based on their ability to modulate the intracellular redox balance and to interact with cellular membranes and specific proteins. Amphiphilic chalcogen-based redox modulators show cytotoxicity against cancer cells over ARPE-19 cells and microorganisms.
