Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to establish a method for molecular weight analysis of cellulose pulp using fewer GPC columns, with shorter analysis time and lower cost of analysis using HPLC, which is applicable in processing or manufacturing units. Pullulan polysaccharides are used as standard and 0.5% LiCl in N , N -dimethylacetamide is used as eluent. Typically, four columns are used for molecular weight determination; however, in this study we investigated two columns as an alternative method. The comparative data for four columns versus two columns are presented in the results and discussion section. The system precision, linearity, accuracy, method precision, robustness and solution stability have been validated in order to support the study. The purpose of this study is to establish a method for molecular weight analysis of cellulose pulp using fewer GPC columns, with shorter analysis time and lower cost of analysis using HPLC, which is applicable in processing or manufacturing units.
