Summary:A novel cyclodextrin molecular tube with one fully modified and one unmodified end was facilely synthesized by selective desilylation of a 6- O-tert -butyldimethylsilylated β-cyclodextrin dimer possessing multiple linkers. This molecular tube showed a selective inclusion ability toward cis -unsaturated fatty acid esters by utilizing the asymmetric cylindrical nanocavity. A cyclodextrin tube with one fully modified and one unmodified end selectively includes cis -unsaturated fatty acid esters.
