Summary:The coordination chemistry of rhenium-benzazole complexes as potential diagnostic imaging agents for Alzheimer’s disease. A series of novel rhenium complexes with benzothiazole ligands is reported. Isolated, the complexes are in oxidation states +I, +III and +V, and present a wide range of potential applications. These complexes show great promise as diagnostic imaging agents for Alzheimer’s disease. All the complexes were analysed structurally and spectroscopically.
