The new system has eliminated the need for troublesome speed control, and even complicated turning maneuvers can be conducted more easily. High torque and high speed both are required for a drive motor, which employs a 12V battery power supply. A brushless DC motor was utilized and flux-weakening control was adopted to enable these requirements to be balanced.
