Summary:We describe a single‐sideband homodyne reflectometer for sensitive impedance measurements in the 1 GHz range on electronic devices at liquid‐helium temperatures and below. At 50 pW measurement power, the instrument is capable of resolving a fractional change of 10−5 in the impedance of a nominally 50 Ω resistive device with a measurement time of one minute. We include details of an application to ac magnetoconductance measurements on mesoscopic devices, and an in situ calibration method for this application.
