Description
Summary:Second order focusing is a desirable property of dispersion type electron energy analyzers because it allows a greater angular acceptance or, alternatively, higher energy resolution. We derive the second order focusing conditions for the hyperbolic field analyzer, which also allows a large range of energies to be collected in parallel, making it suitable for surface analysis techniques such as Auger spectroscopy.
