Summary: | A systematic study of the wavelength dependency of the photodegradation of blue polymer light-emitting diodes is reported. Clearly two different regions can be distinguished, inside the absorption band, where the strongest and permanent photodegradation is found, and at wavelengths above the edge of absorption, where at least partially reversible photodegradation is observed. Irradiation experiments on samples with and without a cathode show the effect of the cathode-polymer interface and its contribution to the degradation mechanisms involved. |
