Thermo- and mechanico-optical effects in liquid crystals and their application in aerodynamics

Temperature and shear sensitive liquid crystals may be used for global quantitative and qualitative diagnostics of near-wall flows. The results of experimental studies of liquid crystals and relevant technologies tested at ITAM SB RAS are presented.
