Summary: | Mechanics of materials is a core courses in mechanical engineering and the compulsory subjects that must be mastered by engineering students. Competencies expected of this course are to understand the science of material strength. Submission of materials Mechanics of Materials must be accompanied by a correct understanding of theory, but based on data obtained through observation of the learning activity, a method often used by lecturers are form a lecture and PowerPoint presentations. These methods often lead to boredom in the learning process for the delivery of content form a concept with little exercises. The purpose of this research and development is to develop Instructional Materials Mechanics of Materials by Using Solidworks Simulation Software for learning Mechanics of Materials can be more interesting and meaningful.
This research is a research and development with ADDIE development model that comprises the step of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. In the analysis phase will be performed need analysis and front-end analysis. At the stage of development, will be carried out expert validation. In the implementation phase, formative evaluation will be conducted.
The results of the expert validation during the development stage, the media developed, including the level of a valid and feasible to use (96.36%). In the test phase a small group, showed questionnaire students’ perceptions of the media is valid and feasible to use (84.07%). At this stage of field trials, the results obtained questionnaire students’ perceptions of the media is valid and feasible to use (84.21%). For further development, media added with components loading more complex style. |
